Your whisper glides across my heart
Smooth ripples in the stream.
You hold me close
Almost as if I were going to fade,
A tattered and care-worn memory.
Your lips brush mine ever so softly,
The morning dew bestowed upon a blooming rose.
I look into your eyes,
Seeing worlds more than everyone else.
No one believes what you see,
But I know who lives beneath the mask.
The walls that you built are gone,
Fallen, never to rebuild.
You look into my soul,
And I am a bird flying beyond the horizon.
You see more in me than I knew was there.
Fitting your fingers between mine,
You fill the space perfectly,
And my heart is whole once more.
